Welcome to Colorado CEC
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the
largest international professional organization
dedicated to improving educational outcomes for
individuals with exceptionalities, students with
disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for
appropriate governmental policies, sets professional
standards, provides continual professional development,
advocates for newly and historically underserved
individuals with exceptionalities, and helps
professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary
for effective professional practice.
This site is designed for service providers, families,
teachers, students, university professionals, and others
who are interested in bettering the lives of individuals
with disabilities. Explore this site as a way to
celebrate the achievements of children and youth
with exceptional needs and the people who support them.
New information is added frequently.
If you have any ideas to improve the Colorado CEC
website or want to be part of the Communications
Subcommittee (Website Development) then email
comments@coloradocec.org.
We invite you to become a
member of Colorado CEC and join us throughout the year
in our activities. Our board meetings are open to all
(check the Board section for meeting times/dates) and
our “Courage to Risk” Conference in Colorado Springs in
January is an excellent opportunity to stay updated on
evidence-based practices and strategies. (www.couragetorisk.org)
