Welcome

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

This site is designed for service providers, families, teachers, students, university professionals, and others who are interested in bettering the lives of individuals with disabilities.  Explore this site as a way to celebrate the achievements of children and youth with exceptional needs and the people who support them.  New information is added frequently.

Our Quarterly Meeting will be held on Sat, Jan. 28, 2012 @ Denver Christian School (Pearl & Evans in Denver, C0)

We are happy to announce that National CEC will be held in Denver, CO (April 11 - 14, 2012).  Please join us in the learning opportunity.  We will have a number of opportunities available to connect.  Consider joining us at the Colorado Reception.  Also, in order to receive a reduced rate, consider volunteering an 8 hour shift for a 40% of reduction in cost.

Go to National CEC website and sign up for your volunteer shift -- www.cec.sped.org

If you have any ideas to improve the Colorado CEC website or want to be part of the Communications Subcommittee (Website Development) then email comments@coloradocec.org.
